From corporate to photography
"I love people, photography, food, music — and kind, thoughtful conversations with friends. That's how I see every client."
What led me to photography was this: after spending over 30 years in corporate life as an executive, in 2015 both my kids left for university, and the house went quiet — dauntingly silent. I started looking through old family photos to fill the void, and realized how bad I was at taking photos. So I picked up a camera, just to do better. I fell in love with it, especially with portraits. But then something unexpected happened. Through these portrait sessions, I realized I wasn't just taking pictures — I was helping people. They would walk away standing taller, feeling more confident.
So in 2023, I left my corporate job and created Fotogie, and that's still what I love to do today. What I do is simple: before I lift the camera, I try to understand people's stories — what matters to them, what they want for their business. Then we work together to create an experience that helps them feel better about how they're seen and valued.
